Will a partnership with a PEO involve a contract?

No. Unlike some Professional Employer Organizations, SouthEast has no long term contract or commitment. The agreement renews automatically on an annual basis and requires only a 30-day notice by the client for a penalty free early termination.

Will a partnership with a PEO interfere with the company and employee relationship?

No. The relationship you have with your employees will remain that same. However, you will have the ability to offer your employees improved employee benefits.

Who is responsible for employment taxes?

The PEO handles the administration of the employment taxes and makes payment to the appropriate agencies. The client is responsible for providing funds to cover their payroll and payroll taxes.

How important is the relationship between a Leasing company (PEO) and its workers' compensation carrier?

What is the difference between temporary staffing services and a PEO?

A temporary staffing service recruits and hires employees and assigns them to clients to support or supplement the client’s workforce in special work situations, such as employee absences, temporary skill shortages or seasonal workloads. These workers are traditionally only a small portion of the client’s workforce. A PEO hires the clients existing employees and assigns them back. These employees can be full time, part time or seasonal workers. These workers make up the bulk of the clients workforce.
